  • How often should I have my car serviced?

    As a general rule, you should change your oil every 5,000 miles and perform the annual recommended factory-scheduled maintenance. Whether you need general maintenance services or Volvo car repairs, our shop is here to help.

  • The salesman at the dealership where I purchased my new car from said that if I have you work on my car, it will void my warranty. Is this true?

    No. You are entitled to have your car serviced wherever you choose. Always read your warranty to understand what constitutes a covered service item.


    As long as detailed records are kept and the service intervals are met, your warranty will never be void. According to the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, your vehicle can be serviced by any independent service station, shop, or garage of your choosing and you will still maintain your warranty. According to Best Selling Car Brands, Volvo sold 661,713 cars in 2020 worldwide, and any of them can be taken to our shop for Volvo car repairs or services.

  • What is your policy on customer-supplied parts?

    We prefer not to install parts that a customer brings to our Volvo car repairs facility. We do not know who diagnosed the problem or whether the part you have is the correct application, and the part may not be up to our quality standards. We take pride in our quality work, including quality parts. Bringing your own parts is like taking your own food to a restaurant.

  • Can you tell me what is wrong with my car over the phone?

    Typically, we cannot accurately diagnose your vehicle over the phone. Your Volvo is a complex piece of machinery that requires hands-on inspection and testing before we can handle the Volvo car repairs it needs.

  • What should I do if my check engine light comes on?

    If the car seems to be running normal, not making any unusual sounds, and is good on fluids, you should be safe to drive it to us to get checked. If you are unsure, or the check engine light is flashing, DO NOT DRIVE.  Get the car towed immediately! A constantly flashing Check Engine Light is damaging to the engine and other components.

  • What should I do if the TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) Light comes on?

    Low tire pressure means you should check your tire pressure.  We recommend in colder temperatures to set the tire pressure at 40psi for Volvo.  If one tire is low, it means it has a leak and should be inspected.  If all tires are low, it is most likely caused by temperature change.

  • If my car needs to be towed, who would you recommend?

    We recommend AAA or A&A Towing locally 502-551-7651.

  • I’m going to buy a used Volvo, should I have a pre-purchase inspection before I buy it?

    Yes, absolutely! We highly recommend you get it checked out by a Volvo trained technician before buying! Customers find this very helpful in either avoiding costly repairs or knowing they’ve found a used Volvo that is in good condition.

  • Why are you not changing spark plugs as often?

    Most modern cars don’t require these as often as past cars do.  Current cars have more common issues such as cabin filters and air filters (this is like the furnace filter in your home and important for the function of the climate control blend doors, motors, and sensors), USB ports becoming broken, power window locks, and sugary drinks spill on the center electronics area wreak havoc and can lead to costly repairs.
